PDF Merger: how to use it
Merge several PDF files into one document in your browser without uploading them. Learn how to order files, avoid errors and keep the result small.
Job applications, loan files and college submissions often need a single PDF built from several documents: an application form, an ID proof, certificates. The PDF Merger joins them in the order you choose, and it does the work inside your browser, so your personal documents never travel to a server.
The merged file contains every page of every input, in sequence, with the original page sizes and content unchanged.
How to use the PDF Merger
- Select two or more PDF files. You can pick them together or add them one after another.
- Check the list. Files are joined in the order shown.
- Press Process PDF. The tool copies every page into a new document.
- Press Download result to save the merged PDF.
- Open it and scroll through once to confirm the page order before you send it.
Tips for better results
- Rename files with numbers (01-form.pdf, 02-id.pdf) before selecting them; that keeps the order obvious.
- If you only need some pages from a file, extract them first with the PDF Splitter, then merge.
- A merged file is roughly the sum of its parts. If a limit applies, compress the source images or scans before building the PDFs.
- Merge first and add page numbers afterwards with the PDF Page Numbering tool so the numbering runs through the whole document.
Password-protected files
A PDF that is locked with a password cannot be read by a browser tool. Remove the protection in the program that created it, or save an unprotected copy, and then merge. The tool shows a clear message if it meets a file it cannot open.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a limit to how many files I can merge?
There is no fixed limit, but very large files use your device's memory. Merge in batches if your browser slows down.
Will the formatting change?
No. Pages are copied as they are, including fonts, images and links.
Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. Merging runs locally in your browser.
