Signature Resizer: how to use it
Prepare a scanned signature for online forms: resize to exact pixels, choose PNG or JPEG, and keep the file size small.
Many exam, recruitment and banking forms ask for a signature image of a specific pixel size and a small file size. A quick phone photo of a signature is usually far too large and has an uneven grey background. This tool resizes the image to the dimensions you enter and lets you choose the file type.
Your signature is sensitive. Because the tool runs entirely in your browser, the image is never uploaded to any server.
How to use the Signature Resizer
- Sign with a dark pen on plain white paper and photograph or scan it in good light, straight on.
- Select the image in the tool.
- Enter the Width and Height in pixels that the form requires. Keep Keep original aspect ratio ticked unless the form demands an exact ratio.
- Choose an Output format. PNG keeps transparency where possible; JPEG uses a white background; WebP is smaller.
- If the form has a size limit, set the JPEG/WebP quality lower, then press Process image.
- Check the preview and press Download result.
Tips for better results
- Crop away empty paper first with the Image Cropper. A tight crop around the signature gives a bigger, clearer result at small sizes.
- A signature on a form is usually wide and short. Make sure your target sizes match that shape or the strokes will look squashed.
- If the file is still too large, reduce the pixel size slightly or lower the quality.
- Always read the portal rules: some insist on JPG, others on PNG.
Keeping the lines crisp
Thin pen strokes blur when an image is shrunk a lot. Use a dark pen, a high-resolution original and the smallest reduction that satisfies the form, and the signature will stay readable.

Should I choose PNG or JPEG?
Follow the form. If it allows either, JPEG is usually smaller for scans on white paper.
Can the tool remove the paper background?
No. It resizes and converts; it does not edit the content. Photograph on clean white paper for the best result.
Is the signature stored?
No. Nothing is uploaded or saved by this website.
